So I have been in Girl Scouts since I was in first grade. I love it! Being in Girl Scouts has given me some of the greatest opportunities of my life. Through Girl Scouts I have made many friends, and have gotten to do some pretty neat stuff. For example: I earned my bronze award hosting a night called “American Pride Night” recognizing our troops and supporting our country. I earned my silver award doing the PR campaign for Girl Scout cookies for my council, for this I led trainings for adults, hosted events for girls, and was all over the media- newspapers, radio, and TV- I got interview by Barbara Ryeolts on Northland Voices. I have also earned my gold award (A HUGE HONOR) For this I coordinated a tour of the Jungle Theater’s production of “Holocaust Witness: The Legacy of Anne Frank” to come to Duluth this presentation showed how to create social change and was viewed by over 1,300 people in my community. I have also been able to go to girl scout camp many years, have been the keynote speaker at different events, and took first place in a film competition. I learned many great skills, and I hope that in the future I will be able to be a girl scout leader…. Here is a link to the councils website: http://www.gslakesandpines.org/
